Charlotte Housing Shortage Forcing Creative Solutions – Like Turning This Church Into Condos
As Charlotte’s desirability, job opportunity, and the population continues to grow, the demand for housing continues to outpace the supply.
With raw land, especially near uptown becoming increasingly scarce, some developers are getting creative with where and how they build new homes.
One of the most unique new projects in Charlotte has to be a new condo development being built inside of a historic Charlotte church in Wesley Heights (formerly Charlotte Immanuel Church Of All Nations – they’ve since moved to an expanded location at 5216 Tuckaseegee Rd).
The yet-to-be-named condo development will feature a total of 15 units (4 will be built outside of the church, and 11 will be built throughout the historic interior). Several of the units will feature exterior balconies with skyline views.
The new project is being marketed and represented by David Hoffman Realty’s new homes division, spearheaded by Whitestone Capital, and built by Fairwood Construction.
